Eagles Live in Eyries

Daniel Scissorhands

Finally got some work done on my steampunk fable tonight. I'm mostly going through the first draft and copying what I like into the new draft. Cutting a lot out. Which is good. I have a word limit to think about and there ain't too much room for extra flowery prose. This is good though, it is teaching me to be more concise and to the point. There are couple of scenes that were great improved by me chopping extra stuff out and making it short.

In the words of Jim Henson "Simple is good." (although if you've ever seen Dark Crystal you would wonder if he ever followed his own advice. That film is amazing and very very complex).

Hopefully what I got done tonight will keep my fires going and I'll get this baby finished post haste. My personal deadline is nine days away, and the final product is due by the 29th (woooo! spoooooky!). I also (finally) got my own copy of Serenity today. Shiny.

More ConFusion Pictures

More pictures from this weekend's ConFusion. I shamelessly stole these from [info]jadesfire55

Saturday Night: Me with [info]wookiee71 We had to get a picture together for obvious reasons.

Sunday morning: Me in Artist Alley. All that blogging tired me out.

In other news, my order of shirts from my Zazzle store came in yesterday. I ordered one with the cover art and one of the Are You Hot? shirts. I'm happy with them, but the font was bigger than I expected (that's what she said).
The print quality on the cover art shirt was top notch, although I probably should have went with black instead of grey. But it looks good. I chose a hyper yellow basic t-shirt for the Are You Hot shirt instead of the fancy tight fit ringer tee it defaults at. I am a cheapskate after all.

I'm going to order one of my Lovable Geek shirts soon so I can start wearing them around town. For what it is worth.

EDIT: this post got really jacked up for some reason. Hopefully it is now fixed.

Eagles Live in Eyries

Flogging a Dead Horse

It is almost 10 PM and I haven't eaten dinner yet. Instead, I've been designing t-shirts. Ladies, don'tcha ever say I never did anything for you:

I had some womanly advice in making this one, specifically in the color choice. The colors are a Firefly reference for those of you who care about such things (and if you do - buy a shirt). I made the website smaller in this version, again to keep the price down from having the address on the back. Heck, even I'd wear this one. But then I'm secure enough to wear purple.

I like this design a lot. I think the colors work out pretty good (another bit of womanly advice). The website addy is a little lower on this one, but it is more in alignment with "geek." I don't like that you can't go in and edit a design on Zazzle or just reuse one of your existing designs (yeah, I could if I had done these in Photoshop, but I don't have these fonts). I think i'm going to trash the other design I made, the first one, but we'll see. I'll at least re-do it with the website smaller.

ME WANT FOOD.
